The American Planning Student Association (APSA) is a non-profit, student-driven organization within the Urban and Regional Planning Department in the College of Environmental Design of Cal Poly Pomona. APSA is designed to be a community of students and faculty dedicated to providing educational, professional, and social development for student planners at Cal Poly Pomona.

APSA functions as a means to get students involved in their education, through a combination of various planning related events, on and off campus. The key tenants driving APSA are based upon the student experience, such as providing opportunities to network, building important work skills, gaining exposure to the profession, and actively improving the Urban and Regional Planning Program.

Dora Harville

Vice President

I want to start by thanking each and every one of you who voted for me, without your support I couldn't have done it. I also want to thank my amazing friends for all their help and support.

I truly appreciate the opportunity to not only create new partnerships but also to create meaningful opportunities to learn and grow.

Don't worry we work hard but we can also play hard, together we can accomplish great things.

Love always,

TAYLOR GALINDO

President

I'm thrilled to introduce myself as your incoming APSA president for the upcoming year. As a soon-to-be graduate with a focus on RSE and a minor in regenerative studies, I am incredibly passionate about our program and the remarkable community we have here at CPP.

But that's not all- I'm also honored to serve as the Vice President of the ENV council, where I will continue with the privilege of representing our student body. Connecting with fellow students and advocating for our shared interests is something that truly brings me joy.

For the upcoming year, I have exciting plans to enhance the APSA experience for all of you. My primary goal is to expand both the quantity and quality of the events we organize. From guest speaker events to social gatherings, I want to create diverse opportunities for you to engage with, learn from, and enjoy.

Hello!

My name is Cielo Cruz and  I will be a 3-year transfer in the URP program.

I am passionate about learning as much as I can about sustainability and regenerative studies and love spending time outdoors whenever I have the chance. When I'm not in class, I like doing fun art-related activities such as painting, drawing, and learning new rendering programs.

As a new member of APSA, I am looking forward to being able to provide a fun and eventful year with the help of you all and the rest of the APSA Board!

Gilberto Cabrera Leal

Media Director

Hey all my name is Gilberto!

I am a passionate environmentalist who enjoys gardening. In between pruning, repotting, and collecting seeds, I also enjoy reading and chatting about big ideas, reading manga (One Piece), and playing on the Switch (Pokemon and Zelda).

As media director, I hope to bring together all the different types of students who study Urban and Regional Planning and organize an inclusive and active student body. My area of focus is on infrastructure and transportation as I dream of a world where nature is better integrated into our modes of transportation.

I hope that through your support, we can create a space where everyone can participate and join in together.
